If possible direct beam through patient’s posterior side and angle away from breasts.
FILTRATION: Dose reduction by the use of heavy (copper) filters necessitates the fluoroscopy unit be run in high (12 mA) current mode at less than 70 kVp yielding enhanced quality with no increase in patient dose (not necessarily for thoracic fluoro).
