Thresholds for Biological Effects

• 1 Gy = F.D.A. recommends patients be told of erythema risks

• > 1 Gy = cataracts

• 2 Gy = mild temporary erythema

• 3 Gy = temporary epilation

• 6 Gy = main erythema

• 7 Gy = permanent epilation
