Pregnant Personnel Exposure Reduction
A pregnant staff member can continue to work in fluoroscopy while wearing wrap-around skirt/vest lead apparel (0.5mm Pb). Exposure to the fetus should be well below the mREM required. (collar badge readings would have to exceed 12 REM/9 months!)
If the woman wishes additional fetal protection, she may wish to add a sheet of 0.5 mm Pb vinyl to the inside abdomenal area of her lead apron.
