Proximity of the Image Intensifier To the Patient
The I.I. should be as close to the patient as possible, as image quality will be best with less blur and distortion.
The dose also decreases the closer the I.I. is to the patient.
If the patient must be ᡑ cm (10 in.) from the I.I., a grid is not required-remove it. 10” = an “air gap” that reduces the same amount of scatter that a grid would.
