State regulations and JCAHO standards necessitate regular inspections of conventional X-ray equipment.

The medical physicists of WLR&A perform in depth evaluations of new or repaired radiographic equipment including:

• Ten-point annual radiographic X-ray tube performance evaluation
• Annual fluoroscopic X-ray tube performance evaluation including fluoroscopic output and resolution spot checks
• Annual radiographic tube exposure evaluation with patient dose evaluation, tables and report for each X-ray tube, including trend evaluation with suggestions
• Annual review of radiation safety program, policies and procedures
• Annual lead apparel integrity evaluation
• Radiation safety in-services and training
• Personnel monitoring record review and audit
• Regulatory compliance audit
• Radiation safety surveys (new equipment)

Same-day reports are provided to clients that detail any equipment non-compliance or non-standard response with recommendations for corrective actions.
